Motivation Loop

If we do not work, waste time, sit idle or fall into procrastination loop, how do we think we can even move. We spend a lot of time planning, idealising and thinking. But to be able to move forward, we can not sit idle forever. We got to take action, pick our pen, start writing our todo list, turn by turn put a cross on it, build momentum and break our current patterns. We got to turn ourselves in and win our share of these tremendous opportunities [internet, phone, car and weekends].

I got lazy last few months. Decided; I need to work and stop looking at the analytics figures. Bought a glass bottle. Printed / pasted "Sprint Sessions / Month" inside. Bought 250 x Coins. And started filling this bottle with coins for each session I spend on my goal. 1 Session equals 51 Minutes of focused work.

Yesterday, on 30th April 2021, I counted coins in bottle and it mounted to 86 x Sessions. That means — I worked 41 x Sessions more than I had in March. Nice.

Motivation loop

We look too often for the right motivation and environment. To work, we believe, it has to be fun first and then we can start. But the loop cycle is different.

It is first Action (that we take right now), that produces a result (success), and the motivation is triggered after we have achieved results. As we grow motivation, our will to act grows. And thereby, we build a habit of producing motivation for ourselves.

If you think, it is all going to be easy, fun and simple — honestly, it is not Fun. You got to believe you are drowning in the ocean. Shore is not in sight. If you do not move your arms, you are going to drown. [After you start moving your arms, you feel 'the swim' is not that bad - you become motivated by your actions].
