I cried for Zille Shah today
I cried for Zille Shah today
May be it is Gen Asim Munir the COAS of Pakistan or may be it is Shahbaz Sharif or may be it is CIA or may be it is all the evil powers in the world. I have no idea who is ruining lives of innocents for decades in our country. And I have no idea who is snatching rights of poor from my village, and who is destroying our education and who is stealing our taxes and sitting behind gated walls. I have no idea how low some people can go.
Zille Shah is like my younger brother, is not clever, can’t hide his feelings, can’t stop himself. He is confident vocal outrageous lovable and a blunt beautiful person. They call him “sada” and “stupid” and “baghi”. I think he is all of us inside but unable to hide.
Zille Shah murder at the hands of our police while under custody, while having the backing of COAS, CIA, and all disgusting powers - is the worst possible disgust that fell upon Pakistan last few days. I did not cry for ouster of Imran Khan, and did not cry for APS children, did not cry for all the drone attacks and not even for Arshad Sharif. But I cried for Zille Shah today in the kitchen. And I stopped when my wife came in. And then I cried sitting on sofa. And then I stopped when listening to Khan on bol news. My heart is still heavy with this utter sadness.
He is an honest being, loveable being, innocent being. He is beyond doubt an evidence that Pakistan is a prison cell for people right now. We belong to a place that is hijacked for many decades. We never tasted freedom. All we could do was run — and that we did. I ran to Sweden. My all family fled out of Pakistan.
We ran for we are too cowards and we are not brave like Zille Shah. We are cowards. We are criminals. We are bhagoray a**h**les.
