Baseline rules
Baseline rules

Sometimes life hits you hard. You break and lose the will to fight. At times you want to go blind and enjoy these moments. Often, you are tired and unknowingly hurt your self made promises. There are different phases to how you spend your day. And during these moments of either peak joy or utter depression, one thing remains constant — your values that are non compromise-able. If you break them, you break yourself.
It is alright, if you failed to show up to a commitment. Or failed to finish the product before the deadline. Even, not made a call to a distant relative. Our daily lives are surrounded with mistakes, problems, and conflicts. These conflicts, may be severe in nature, are fine with you. You had a fight, you punched is ok. Attending a phone call and car hits an animal is a mistake. Things that are in your control, where you show a little flexibility, and end up falling into the mistake zone — are fine.
You can not compromise on the rules that shape your personality. You can not tell a lie. Or cheat on your partner. Or smoke a cigarette if you promised to quit. Things that are roots to utter collision and destruction — you can not break these promises. These baseline rules are supposed to be less in number, that you remember them. Not confusing, that you end up arguing yourself. Not very hard, that you fall into fear trap. Something that is both do able and inevitably takes you to a collision course. A baseline, below which you can't breathe.
Surah Ibrahim, 13 - 21
